After a four-year gap, Apple has rolled out its newest Apple TV 4K. Starting November 13th, this updated unit packs the A19 chip, moving past the A15 Bionic found in the older 2022 model. It also includes a dedicated AV1 decoder and improved wireless connections.

The rollout emphasizes integration, particularly around Siri AI, which will function in beta on the second-generation units and newer. Furthermore, the new Find My tracking capability is supported by the second-gen Siri remote or later versions.

At $299, the price point is higher than recent figures for the 2022 model. Despite the cost bump, it retains several key features like Thread connectivity, Ethernet, 128GB of storage, and HDMI 2.1. The A19 chip should provide noticeable longevity compared to its predecessor.

Those looking for savings can find a refurbished third-gen Apple TV 4K from 2022 available at Apple for $209. Preorders are currently exclusive to Apple itself.
