Frequently Asked Questions
No — that's exactly why VHVox exists. Hit Record, choose your ratio, and VHVox captures everything into one video file. No OBS, no screen capture tools, no post-production. If you do stream live, VHVox also works as a window source inside OBS.
Check that the mic icon in the bottom bar is green. If gray, click it to start listening. If it stays gray, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone and grant VHVox permission. Then lower the threshold slider until speech triggers the animation.
Yes. Switch the audio source to System Audio — your avatar and visualizer react to any sound on your Mac. Choose Both to blend your voice with system audio. No virtual cables required. macOS will ask for Screen Recording permission the first time, which is safe to grant.
16:9 (1920×1080) for YouTube and widescreen. 9:16 (1080×1920) for TikTok, Reels, and Shorts. 1:1 (1080×1080) for Instagram feed. VHVox repositions your avatar and visualizer automatically when you switch ratios.
Set VHVox background to Transparent or a chroma key color. In OBS, add a Window Capture source and select VHVox. Apply a Chroma Key filter if using a colored background. For most recording needs, VHVox's built-in recorder is all you need.
VHVox must be running for buttons to work. If it's open and still unresponsive, remove the buttons and re-add them from the VHVox category. Make sure the plugin is up to date in the Stream Deck Store.
